  • An Update on Our Immigration Services

nourAfter 2 years of service, AROC’s Immigration Attorney, Nour Chammas, will be leaving the organization.  We are working to find another highly qualified Immigration Attorney to take this position.  We will be working with an interim attorney to ensure that our clients’ needs continue to be met.  Please continue reading to see a letter from Nour or contact us for more information about this transition.Dear Client and Community Member:

I am writing to inform you that after two years of working as the immigration attorney with AROC, I have unfortunately decided to transition out of my position here.  While serving the community has been an extremely fulfilling and enriching experience for me, I will no longer be handling your case or representing you as your attorney beginning at the end of the month of April.  Your file will continue to be held safely and confidentially at the AROC office and your case will remain open.

If you have changed your address or there are updates in your case, please contact us so that we can continue to help you.

AROC is currently in the process of hiring a new immigration attorney in order to continue offering this much-needed service to members of the community.  AROC will make sure that the new attorney is qualified and able to provide you with the highest quality service.  As soon as the position is filled, the new hire will take over the cases and proceed with helping you receive the immigration benefits for which you have applied.  However, you are also free to retrieve your file and seek another attorney if you so desire.  AROC can help you with the process by providing you with a list of private attorneys, as well as community-based lawyers working with our sister organizations.  If you do choose to retrieve your file, please give AROC staff members at least two days notice, so that they may be able to copy your files before delivering them to you.

It has been an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure working with all of you, and this was a very difficult decision for me to make.  However, I assure you that you will continue to be in good hands here at AROC, which will continue to offer you the best possible immigration legal services.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with Ashwak Hauter at AROC (415) 861-7444.  I wish you all the very best and bid you farewell.

    Sincerely,

    Nour Chammas
