At AROC we work to bring local Arab community members together to organize for social change in the areas that most impact our lives.  Our members have taken action around local issues such as San Francisco Police Department’s use of force and intimidation at protests, lack of religious accomodation in jails, and local immigration policies; national issues such as increasing Arab participation in the 2010 Census; as well as issues in our home countires such as the ongoing war in Iraq and occupation of Palestine, and the uprisings in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and Syria.  We believe that through our people power we can create systemic changes for our community and in joint struggle with other communities– and we know that those changes will come through the strength and passion of those most impacted by these struggles!

We organize adult members through our General Membership, which involves political education opportunities and campaign building.  Adult members are recruited through outreach at actions and events, and through our  legal services.

AROC also organizes youth ages 14-22 in our AYO! (Arab Youth Organization!) program.  Please see the AYO page for more information.
